ASENS 2024
The 2nd International Conference on Algorithms, Software Engineering and Network Security (ASENS 2025) was successfully concluded in Guangzhou!
The 2nd International Conference on Algorithms, Software Engineering and Network Security (ASENS 2025) was successfully held in the School of Mathematics and Information and the School of Software of South China Agricultural University on 22 March! More than 100 experts and scholars participated in the conference on site, sharing and discussing the latest scientific research results.
The conference is hosted by the School of Mathematics and Information and the School of Software of South China Agricultural University (SCAU), with the support of the School of Software of South China University of Technology (SCUT), Guangdong Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Guangdong Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), and LAIS, and chaired by IEEE Fellow Professor Tang Ke of South China University of Science and Technology (SCUST), Professor Huang Han of South China University of Technology (SCUT), and ProfessorQiong Huang ofGuangdong University of Finance. Participants focused on the academic dynamics and development trend of each direction of the new generation of AI technology related research fields such as computer algorithms, software engineering and network security, and discussed the current hot issues, shared the research results, contributed to the construction of specialised and exemplary software colleges and the high-quality development of the discipline, and promoted the prosperity and advancement of the related research and application.

Professor Qiong Huang held the opening ceremony to give the most sincere greetings and warm welcome to all the experts and scholars who came to the conference, and also pointed out that high-quality international conferences not only set up a platform for researchers and scholars to communicate with each other in related fields, but also effectively promote the construction and development of academic disciplines in the college. It is hoped that this conference will build a cutting-edge and open international academic exchange platform to jointly promote the research and development in the fields of artificial intelligence algorithms, software engineering and network security.
Prof. Ke Tang,IEEE Fellow, Southern University of Science and Technology, giving a keynote speech
Title: Learn to Optimise
Professor Tang Ke summarised and analysed the current state of research on optimisation. The successful application of optimisation algorithms is highly dependent on the domain knowledge of human experts. With the emergence of increasingly complex optimisation problems, this design and application paradigm has encountered significant challenges. By following a new paradigm and automatically designing novel optimisation algorithms we can harness the computational power to solve emerging and difficult optimisation problems.
Prof Min Chen, IEEE Fellow, IET Fellow, AAIA Fellow, South China University of Technology
Title: Large Language Model (LLM) Fine Tuning
By analysing the latest round of advances in Large Language Models (LLMs), Prof. Min Chen discusses the potential future direction of co-evolution of human and AI, and highlights their potential for achieving higher levels of cognitive and operational intelligence. As the foundation of large language models, fine-tuning techniques have driven the rapid progress, widespread adoption and far-reaching impact of human and AI beyond earlier technological advances. This presentation explores potential future directions for the co-evolution of human and AI, and highlights their potential to achieve this.
Prof Cai Ruichu, Guangdong University of Technology
Report Title: Causal Representation Learning: A Path to Deeper Understanding of the World
Prof. Ruichu Cai reviewed the development of causal discovery and causal representation learning, and introduced the team's latest theoretical advances in causal representation learning, including how to identify hidden variables with minimal variation, the synergy between sufficient variation and sparsity, and the identification of transient and hierarchical latent dynamics in time-series data, as well as their downstream applications.
Associate ProfessorChi Man VONG, University of Macau
Title: Autonomous Localisation Under Low-Cost Multi-Sensors
Associate ProfessorChi Man VONG presented three recent works of his team to address the performance of visual SLAM and VPR with multi-sensor fusion. The experimental results show that the proposed approach can achieve SOTA performance for real-time inference under the information fusion of multiple low-cost sensors (e.g., RGB camera, solid-state LIDAR, and IMU).
After the opening ceremony and the main keynote speech, the conference held two invited lectures ‘AI (Algorithms and Software)’ and ‘Information Security’, inviting four guests around ‘Algorithms, Software’ and ‘Information Security’. Four speakers were invited to share their latest research results, discuss the cutting-edge progress of related technologies, and explore the development trend and future direction of the industry around the topics of ‘Algorithms, Software’ and ‘Information Security’. In addition, eight authors of the papers participated in the oral presentation session, shared the latest research results of their respective teams, and had in-depth exchanges with the experts on site.
